Day 14: Bullet point your day

- Waking up at 7:15, because youngest wakes up, feels cold and wants to warm up under my blanket.
- It's Valentine's Day. My youngest one brings me a box of chocolates from his dad. Kids are excited to start the day with chocolate. I get one piece, haha.
- Helping kids getting ready for the day.
- Coffee and breakfast.
- Shower.
- Correcting my own blog piece and sharing it on social media.
- Trying to write my bio for a project.
- Getting happily distracted by a friend who asks us to go play with them (yes!).
- Quickly before leaving putting laundry in the machine.
- Emptying the dishwasher and loading it up again.
- Cycling to the center. Coffee and company at Suikerbuik for about an hour. Kids happy to play there.
- Cycling back home.
- Cleaning up and preparing lunch.
- Having lunch with family.
- Folding laundry.
- Youngest kid who's at home with me wants to bathe.
- Hanging laundry to dry. Loading up the laundry machine (again).
- Cleaning up two bedrooms.
- Putting clean dishes in cupboards. Reloading the dishwasher.
- Vacuuming really quickly before sprinting out the door.
- Bringing trash to separate bins by the store on our way to school.



- Picking up bigger kids from school.
- Picking up friend's daughter for a play date.
- Entertaining four kids by playing various things with them for an hour and a half.
- Bringing friend's kid back home.
- Going to the store.
- Cooking.
- Having dinner.
- Continuing to work on my bio (that I started several hours ago).
- Writing these bullet points up to this moment.
- Bringing my youngest to bed.
- Watching the two other perform a song about fruit.
- Preparing my husband's special Valentine's Day dinner as he arrives home.
- Finishing writing that bio!
- Updating this list, because feeling accomplished.
- Bringing the other two to bed.
- Realized the bio needs a lot of improvement after all. Continue working on it.
- Updating social media.
- Prepping an important email.
- Moving photo files from my phone to the computer seems to take forever. Bluetooth not connecting, cable's too slow to dig out. Trying to email them to myself. First photo takes solid 15 minutes to arrive through email from my phone to be visible on my computer screen.
- Decide to pour a glass of wine while not resolving the problem.
- Email ready and sent. It's 00:30. Time to update this and hit the hay.

Tonight I removed all of my followers on Instagram. It was a private account with some 200+ followers, but I admit, removing most of them actually hurt. I did it, because Instagram was no longer the social media I began using in July 2012. In the beginning I would only post pictures of our every day life. I heart enough

About a month ago I woke up to my snooze alarm clock. Usually I stay in bed for five minutes with my eyes closed after waking up, thinking about all the good things I expect from the day. That morning though I realized I had been snoozing too much and we were running late, so I jumped out of bed and started dressing up. Suddenly I felt my pulse rising. My heart seemed to be beating out of my chest. As usual, I was wearing my Fitbit, so it was easy to see what the current heart rate was. It was over 170 and I had just woken up. I called my husband, who was on his way to work. I told him something was up with my heart. He said he was coming back home. I asked my 10-year-old daughter to come to talk to me and I had to do something I wish I did not need to impose on her. I told her if I pass out, she should call an ambulance, because my heart was beating way too fast at that moment and I was feeling very vulnerable. Icy rain reveals personality

I was born and raised in Finland and needless to say, I have experienced cold, snowy winters. Ten years ago I moved to the Netherlands and since then I have experienced cold, rainy winters that sometimes turn into warm, rainy winters. Today I happened to be picking up my kids from school just when icy drizzle was scheduled. Yes, I should've dressed everyone in rain proof clothing, but usually we manage that one kilometer in a drizzle no problem. I evaluated the rain wasn't going to bother us too much, but I completely forgot to calculate in the effect of the ice cold rain. My kids have proper rain attire. Too bad I had left it all at home. When we were leaving school, a boat was passing and our bridge was closed. Not to freeze while waiting, I decided it was better to keep on moving, and cycle through another bridge, even though it added half a kilometer.
